Some of you have seen green check marks on your desktop files, folders, and some icons. These check marks appear at the bottom left side of files, folders, and shortcut icons placed on the desktop.

While we all love to keep icons and files on the Desktop for quick access, it results in too much clutter. As Windows changed, it allowed you to hide the desktop icons, so everything looked cleaner.

You can change folder icons in Windows 11 by right-clicking and selecting "Properties" and "Customize." Desktop icons like the Recycle Bin are changed in the Settings under Personalization and Themes.
