Parts of Texas are bracing for freezing weather this weekend as a powerful cold front marches across the state.
A strong cold front will bring a line of storms to Southeast Texas Sunday evening, specifically between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.
An atmospheric disturbance will move north from the Rio Grande early this week, brining enhanced rain chances to Southeast Texas.
North Texas will see conditions turn cooler Friday afternoon and evening, while Southeast Texas will see temperatures cool down late Friday or early Saturday morning. "We might be lucky enough to have highs range in the mid 70s to lower 80s range on Saturday," said the National Weather Service in Houston-Galveston.
Texas is in for a dramatic weather shift. After highs in the 80s and 90s, a strong cold front could drop temperatures toward freezing in some areas - all in about 24 hours.
