The abandoned general cargo ship MV Jernas, a Bahraini-flagged vessel, became stranded on the rocky coast of Salalah, Oman, after being caught in the strong waves and winds of Cyclone Mekunu in 2018. MV Jernas is a general cargo vessel, 127.31 meters long and 21.2 meters wide, built in 2001. In 2018, during Cyclone Mekunu, the ship was caught by strong winds and waves, causing it to run aground and become stranded on the rocky shore near Salalah.
