The Philippines has an annual ‘typhoon season’ & this year it’s been a bumper one with two rare super-typhoons, Uwan & Timo, plus several more. Wilma, the one currently passing through here, falls into the latter category with winds 30-60kmh twinned with regular deluges. Labelled a Number One typhoon, it has darkened the sky & stopped all ferries & fishing … leaving lorries jamming port parking & market stocks looking thin. This afternoon. | Andy McConnell
