I almost edited this part out, but I decided not to. When I said the word “authentic” Mason repeated “autistic” and laughed. It wasn’t coming from a place of making fun of autism..he’s 9 and simply didn’t know what the word meant. Kids say things without always knowing the meaning behind them, and those moments can become teaching moments 💙🫶
