Swallow Tanager 💙🐦🌿: The male Swallow Tanager is a showstopper — bright turquoise-blue on the body with a black mask and throat, making him look like a tropical superhero! They get their name from their swallow-like shape — short neck, long pointed wings, and a slightly forked tail that gives them a sleek, aerodynamic look. Males’ feathers can appear blue or green depending on the lighting — a beautiful example of structural coloration rather than pigment. Female Swallow Tanagers are greenish
